Why We Burgeon
The incredible beauty and accessibility of our great outdoors is often taken for granted. We believe that collectively we all share an obligation to the wellbeing of these natural resources and the local communities that steward them for us. Burgeon is our adventure to create a more prosperous tomorrow for the people and places we love by designing, testing, and manufacturing outdoor apparel in the individual mountain regions that inspire their use.

from 1512 reviewsI love this hoodie so much that I get separation anxiety when it's in the wash.
This was a staple on my recently completed southbound AT thru hike. I had used an ultra light alpha direct fleece for a short time period but found that piece gave little to no warmth unless paired with a shell, which was inconvenient and negated the utility of the supposedly superior warmth/weight ratio of alpha direct. The Highlander hoodie is lighter than most of the top fleeces on the market and provides warmth as a stand-alone piece but is not so warm that you cannot wear it while working hard in the right temps. It is certainly not meant to block wind, but does provide slight protection compared to the airy alpha direct. This can come in handy when you are working hard on an uphill and reach windy elevation and want to cool off a bit without losing all body heat. In sum, for my purposes, this hoodie outperforms both traditional heavy, hot fleeces and the newer alpha direct fleeces.
I love this top. I have two now, one red, one blue and will no doubt get the green and possibly orange at some point too. They are hard wearing and warm when needed but not overly in milder weather.
I got Mens and well sized up cos I like the extra room and length of back and arms. Very happy with the look and versatility.
This shirt is warm and breathable. The raglan sleeve is ultra comfortable. Perfect for skiing the backcountry or everyday use. I have used all the top brands and this is as good as it gets, plus its made here in the America.
Great product. It can be worn hiking, biking, etc.. and Dinner out.
I love it! I wear it almost everyday and want to get it in more colors. It’s true to size, lightweight but warm, and it’s so soft and comfortable. I wear it hiking and I feel like it’s going to be a go to mid layer this winter for snowboarding.
I was looking online for a basic black oversized vest that’s not a puffer because I like the oversized look. Happened to be in NH and went to the store. I’m usually a small/medium (135 lbs) but purchased in the women’s large and it’s just a little bit oversized and perfect. I’m wearing now over a hoodie and it’s great - not too bulky and comes down to mid behind. Glad I bought it.
Good looking, well built, warm addition to layering system. Love all the stuff made by Burgeon. This is my third top by Burgeon and love the comfort, durability and practicality of their clothing. AND THEY’RE AMERICAN SOURCED AND STITCHED!!! What else could a guy ask for?
Recently purchased this beanie and have worn it running 3x in temps in the 20’s. I have a big head and I can pull this comfortably over my ears. Very soft, would love it in every color.
I wanted a great versatile hiking hat for visibility during stick/hunting season. Fits and performs perfectly!
Top quality product will buy more. Thanks for doing such a good job.
Just received and wore it once. Very comfortable!
The Franconia turned out to be a great garment. I bought the garment for my wife, who needed a middle weight hiking hoodie. Not only is it beautiful (she loves the blue), but it has inside pockets to store gloves, front chest pockets for easy access to sunglasses or cell phone for a quick photo. The fabric on the inside is soft and comfortable. It works as an outer layer on milder days but will be a great inner layer when the temps are low or the winds are high. Five stars all the way!
I have been climbing and guiding throughout North America since 2005. This is hands down my favorite insulation layer I have ever had. From cold desert pitches, to steep ice climbs, and long PNW volcanos, this layer is with me. The dual front zip pockets are key for me and my phone and guide notebook. Power-stretch is an amazingly soft and comfortable material, so much so that this is often what I seep in while camping, especially at altitude.
This vest is so comfortable! I’ve worn it hiking, walking the dog, and find myself grabbing it when I’m going to run errands. It’s perfect for cool days or layered under a jacket on colder days as it’s not bulky. It’s my new go-to!
