Sustainability

Sustainability: Our Highlander Hoodie is knitted in North Carolina and handsewn in New Hampshire.  US domestic production ensures compliance with high environmental standards, a cleaner electrical grid, more efficient transportation infrastructure, as well as reducing the overall distance (and carbon footprint required) to move through a global supply chain.  In addition, due to volume increases, we were recently able to get Cyberknit to switch the base material to recycled polyester.  Hoodies in recycled polyester will be available in September (Green, Navy, Black).

Made in New Hampshire: Our Highlander Hoodie is handsewn by our Burgeon production team in both Lincoln and Gorham, New Hampshire.

Worker Standards:The Highlander Hoodie is handstitched by the Burgeon production team in both Lincoln and Gorham, New Hampshire.  Burgeon follows all federal, state, and local laws and regulations that protect our employees.  Burgeon production team members also enjoy flexible working hours, paid time off (vacation, sick, safe), and all ten federal holidays.  Burgeon covers 100% of healthcare premiums for all employees who average 30+ hours per week.  All Burgeon production team members are eligible for a monthly bonus based on our sales.  5% of the sales of the Highlander Hoodie go directly into this bonus pool.
5% for our Community and Environment

5% of the purchase price of this product will benefit our community and environmental efforts.  These efforts include trail maintenance, working with local non-profits and organizations, as well as our carbon mitigation efforts.

We maintain three (Old Bridle Path, Pine Link, Willey Range) trails in the White Mountains in partnership with the Appalachian Mountain Club. In the past year, we have also donated time, resources, and money to organizations such as New England Disabled Sports, Pemi Search and Rescue, Lakes Region Search and Rescue, the Linwood Rotary, Linwood Ambulance, as well as local community centers in Lincoln, Franconia, and Lisbon, NH.

Shipping on orders $75+ is free for continental US addresses. For orders less than $75 or to non-continental US locations, we charge $5.00 for shipping.

For non-US orders, shipping is calculated at checkout. All International packages are shipped via USPS. Deliveries times will vary depending on destination. Please note that you may be liable for duties on the shipment (varies by country).

Great hoodie

I love it! I wear it almost everyday and want to get it in more colors. It’s true to size, lightweight but warm, and it’s so soft and comfortable. I wear it hiking and I feel like it’s going to be a go to mid layer this winter for snowboarding.

Great hiking hoodie

I am a big fan of grid fleece for hiking, so we start off positive!
Also, I love hoods and this fits the bill, plus there is a drawstring that will tighten it. I ordered a small, and for reference, I am 5’3” and 98 pounds. I recently wore it hiking some higher peaks on a chilly damp day over an alpaca base layer with a hard shell outer layer and I was good to go all day. I think I could actually wear the XS, but I prefer some wiggle room. It’s a new item for me, haven’t washed it, so I can’t comment on long term durability.

Best top and best service

I live in the UK and ordered a highlander hoodie which arrived very quickly but was very snug when I wanted a loose fit. I was due to start a trek two weeks later so, without hope, I emailed the company with my problem. Straight way they offered to send another, bigger, one out. They couldn’t have been more helpful, thank you Nick. Although I was happy to return the other they suggested I donate it to someone who could make use of it, so I have (a young teen looking forward to her own adventures). The new top arrived quickly and is perfect.

Very happy with my Highlander Hoodie

This past year I've started wearing sun hoodies with a ball cap during my backpacking adventures. Now that summer is over I wanted to add a heavier fabric with a waffle pattern for layering. I tried it on after receiving it and it fits perfect. I'm normally a size medium but I sized up to a large and it fits perfectly. I'm 5' 7" and 135 lbs. I got a red color to add some variety to my collection. I love the snap at the neck and the kangaroo pocket. I'll probably order two more, a green and a blue.
